Philippines recognised for efforts after 2012 typhoon

Thursday, September 05, 2013 - Arabian Travel Market (ATM), the Middle East’s premier travel and tourism exhibition, has named the Philippines as the recipient of the New Frontiers Award 2013 during a special seminar event held on the second day of the show.
Mr. Benito C. Bengzon, Jr., Assistant Secretary, International Tourism Promotions, Department of Tourism Middle East office – Philippines, accepted the award on behalf of the country’s Department of Tourism from Mark Walsh.

One week until Vivid Sydney lights up the city

Friday, May 17, 2013 - Next Friday evening at 6:00pm, the lighting of the Sydney Opera House sails will herald the start of Vivid Sydney 2013, the annual festival of light, music and ideas, making the city a canvas of creativity, from 6pm to midnight every night, 24 May – 10 June.

Owned and managed by Destination NSW on behalf of the NSW Government, Vivid Sydney is the city’s biggest winter festival, with free and ticketed events including the event’s longest light walk, running for 18 days across Circular Quay, The Rocks, Walsh Bay, Darling Harbour, North Sydney and the Inner West.
