Runners from 40 countries are competing in four race divisions – a 42.195 km full marathon, a 21.1 km half marathon, a 11.55 km mini marathon and a 4.5 km fun run. All race divisions start and finish at the Golden Jubilee Convention Hall, Khon Kaen University, Khon Kaen province.
Khon Kaen International Marathon 2014 (350×202)The race covers scenic, loop course that travels past academic areas and through cultural and ethnic communities. It offers prizes, including trophies and cash rewards, worth over 2 million Baht.
For the full marathon, half marathon and mini marathon, the first 10 men and first 10 women overall and the first 5 men and first 5 women in each age group (after exclusion of overall winners) will be awarded with trophies and cash prizes.For runners who finish a full marathon, half marathon or mini marathon within the standard course time will receive a finisher’s medal and certificate. The first 20,000 walk and fun run participants will receive a finisher’s medal.
All registered participants get the chance to join a sightseeing tour of the King Cobra Village and the Temple of Khon Kaen on 25 January and the wild orchid farm, silk village and Issan-style Sim (ordination hall) on 26 January.
The race, organised by the Khon Kaen University Alumni Association, is officially sanctioned by The Association of International marathons and Road Races (AIMS) and the Athletic Association of Thailand (IAAF Rules).
