The turboprop with the registration OE-LGP is expected to land in Innsbruck today at 8 p.m. local time. Accordingly, with the addition of OE-LGP the fleet of the Austrian Airlines Group will be expanded to 77 aircraft, including 16 Dash 8-400 turboprop airliners.

The Dash maintenance team of Tyrolean Technik located in Innsbruck will carry out various refurbishment and refitting tasks on the aircraft and bring it up to Austrian Airlines standards.

The Dash 8-400 has room for 76 passengers and operates on routes with a range of up to about 1,600 kilometers.

Due to its design, the Bombardier Q-Series is considered to be particularly reliable and efficient.

The “Q”in the name stands for “quiet”. Compared to passenger jets with similar seating capacity, the Dash 8-400 aircraft requires about 40% less fuel, and thus reduces CO₂ emissions.

This type of aircraft is also able to reach airports where larger airliners are not able or allowed to land. For example, this is the case in Lugano
