74 per cent still prefer beach vacations says Expedia’s Flip Flop Survey

image001Expedia has come up with a Flip Flop Report 2014 on the preferences that beach goers have on Asia, North America, South America, Europe and Australia.

 

The survey conducted online in March 11 to April 2, 2014, reveals the rising inclination of beach holidays among Indians, North America, Europe, South America and Asia Pacific. The study was conducted among 11,165 adults aged 18 years of age and older, across 24 countries.

 

The Kantar-owned GMI (Global Market Insite) and Lightspeed Research amalgamated group of panels.

“This fun survey by Expedia reveals exciting findings regarding how the looking beyond the frontiers for a beach vacation. According to the survey, while men were ahead in taking a beach vacation last year at 74% (women at 67%), women took the lead in taking international vacations at 60% (men at 47%)”,said Vikram Malhi, GM, South and Southeast Asia, Expedia.

Survey Methodology
This study was conducted on behalf of Expedia by Northstar, a globally integrated strategic insights consulting firm.

 

This survey was conducted online from March 11 to April 2, 2014 across North America, Europe, South America and Asia Pacific using the Kantar-owned GMI (Global Market Insite) and Lightspeed Research amalgamated group of panels.

 

The study was conducted among 11,165 adults aged 18 years of age and older across 24 countries. Sampling quotas and weighting were used to ensure the sample is representative of each country’s population in terms of age and gender.

 

Assuming a probability sample, the margin of error would be +/-0.9 percentage points, 19 times out of 20.
