aba-logoThe American Bus Association is pleased to announce Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Company is once again making a donation to the Nashville, Tennessee area non-profit “Thistle Farms.”

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store is graciously donating 12 of its trademark rocking chairs that will be on the Marketplace Networking Floor as part of its sponsorship. At the end of Marketplace, the company will donate the 12 chairs, so “Thistle Farms” can auction them off and raise additional money.

The ABA chose “Thistle Farms” as its local non-profit charity and ABA will be working at Marketplace to raise money and awareness for the program.

At “Thistle Farms” and its supportive community “Magdalene,” the program rebuilds the lives of women from the Southeast and the country, who may have lived on the streets, abused drugs and alcohol or worked in prostitution. The women range in age from 20 to 50 and 72% of the women who are in the program are clean and sober two-and-a-half years after starting.

Women also learn skills in manufacturing, packaging, marketing and sales, and administration. It is a supportive workplace where women acquire the skills they need to earn a living wage.

Each year ABA selects a local non-profit as part of its “Marketplace Gives Back” program. To date, “Marketplace Gives Back” has raised more than $240,000 in communities where Marketplace has been held since 2007.

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store has been a longtime and loyal partner at the ABA’s Marketplace.

“The ABA is thrilled that our friends at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store have made this generous donation to “Thistle Farms.” This is a great, local Nashville non-profit that is working to restore dignity to women who have lived on the streets, and the ABA is proud to support it. Cracker Barrel once again continues to show how this American icon is also a great corporate partner and citizen,” said ABA President and CEO Peter J. Pantuso, CTIS.
