Alaska Airlines today announced its annual Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) sale, with exclusive discounts for residents of the state of Alaska. The special one-way fares are on sale now through Oct. 10, and are valid for travel within and to/from the state of Alaska from Oct. 15 to May 24, 2017.
“Every year, the Alaska Airlines PFD sale features the best fares with the longest travel window for customers in our namesake state,” said Marilyn Romano, Alaska Airlines’ regional vice president for the state of Alaska. “As the fall temperatures roll in, Alaskans can pick their paradise and start planning a getaway for the entire family to many top vacation destinations.”
Residents of the 49th state can reap more savings with Alaska Airlines’ Club 49 program. Club 49 offers members two free checked bags every time they travel, access to weekly fare sales and two discounts a year good for 30 percent off one-way travel. In 2015, Club 49 members saved more than $22.5 million by utilizing these benefits. Club 49 is exclusively for Alaska residents and requires enrollment in the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan™.
Sale start date: Sept. 23, 2016. Fares must be purchased by Oct. 10, 2016. Travel to contiguous U.S. or Canada on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays between Oct. 15, 2016 and May 24, 2017. Travel within the state of Alaska on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays between Oct. 15, 2016 and May 24, 2017. Travel to Hawaii on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays between Oct. 17, 2016 and May 24, 2017. Travel to Mexico on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays between Oct. 16, 2016 and May 24, 2017. Blackout dates: Nov.16, 2016 to Nov. 29, 2016, Dec. 14, 2016 to Jan. 3, 2017 and Feb. 16, 2017 to March 26, 2017. Additional blackout dates: To/from Dutch Harbor Jan. 4, 2017 to Jan. 21, 2017, and to Hawaii Jan, 4, 2017 to Feb. 15, 2017. Seats are limited and may not be available on all flights or all days. Some markets may not operate daily service. Fares are nonrefundable, are priced in U.S. dollars, and include all applicable taxes, fees and charges based on one-way travel. A ticket purchased at an Alaska Airlines airport location or through one of our reservation call centers will cost $15.00 more per person than the advertised fare. Differences in fare and taxes, fees and charges apply to any changes made after ticketing. A $125 change fee per person applies to changes made within 60 days of ticketed travel. Other restrictions — such as day of week, blackout dates and advance purchase requirements — may apply. Some flights may be operated by Horizon Air, SkyWest, or PenAir. Additional U.S. taxes may apply to itineraries involving more than one stopover or a stopover lasting more than 12 hours. Bag fees apply for checked baggage.
