Anthony Sebastian becomes the most impressive GM for the Datai Langkawi

datai-langkawi-logoThe Datai Langkawi has kicked off the New Year with a terrific accolade to add to its already impressive list of awards. Anthony Sebastian, General Manager of The Datai Langkawi as well as the Senior Vice President – Hotel Management for Destinations Resorts and Hotels (DRH), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Malaysian Government investment sovereign wealth fund, Khazanah Nasional Berhad received the top honour at the Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards – 2013-2015 ceremony last night by receiving the ‘ HAPA General Manager of The Year – The Ambassador of Hospitality’ award.

Anthony Sebastian, a veteran of 25 years in the hospitality industry received the honour in praise of his dedication to excellence and hard work. “I owe this award to the people that surround me. This award is testament to the hard work and professionalism of my team at The Datai”. He graciously thanked The Datai Langkawi team for thier unsurpassed dedication to excellence and strong work ethics.

Anthony has been pivotal in turning The Datai Langkawi into the success it enjoys today as Malaysia’s premier luxury resort. His skills and expertise will be further used to develop The Datai brand with the opening of the 105 keys The Datai Desaru, a luxury resort and the 390 keys Anak Datai, a family themed resort in Desaru Coast, Johor scheduled to open in late 2015.

The Datai Langkawi also won a number of awards in the following categories at the event :-

· HAPA Resort of the Year – Best Discovery
· HAPA Indulging Spa of the Year – Tempting Experience (Hotels/Resorts) – The Spa At The Datai
· HAPA 5-Star Resort – Exceptional Experience
· HAPA Masterchef (Asian) – Master of Authenticity – Chef Rihazul Othman of The Gulai House

Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards (HAPA) 2013-2015 held its annual award ceremony for the Malaysian Series at the One World Hotel last night here in Selangor in grand fashion with YB Dato’ Seri Mohamed Nazri bin Abdul Aziz, Minister of Tourism and Culture Malaysia in attendance.
