Australia’s Port Hedland braces for Tropical Cyclone Christine

cyclone-christineResidents of Port Hedland, Australia couldn’t have expected worse weather conditions; that too on the New Year Eve. According to reports, tropical cyclone Christine is set to hit the region on the last day of this year.
A red alert has been issued for Port Hedland. Residents have been asked to stay indoors with the cyclone posing as a threat to homes and lives. The Regions under alert include Port Hedland, South Hedland, Whim Creek, Roebourne, Point Samson, Wickham, Karratha, Dampier and extending inland to Marble Bar and surrounding areas.
Tourists are also having a tough time as most of the roads have been closed owing to precautionary measures. Travellers are advised to contact local authorities before travelling to any region till the cyclone passes.
