Austrian Airlines From now on: the latest flight information directly by SMS

Published on : Friday, December 6, 2013

Austrian-AirlinesSometimes even Austrian Airlines flights can fall victim to winter conditions. Fog, ice or snow can lead to irregularities in flight operations. So from now on, Austrian Airlines is offering its passengers an extra service free of charge: yourUpdate.

In the event of delays of 30 minutes or more, or if a flight has to be cancelled, customers will automatically be sent an SMS or e-mail informing them of the current flight status and contact details for rebooking, without the need to register. To ensure passengers can be reached quickly, they need only give a personal mobile phone number or e-mail address at the time of booking their flight. All members of the Miles and More frequent flyer programme already registered online will automatically receive the SMS or e-mail from today onwards.

At Vienna Airport Schwechat, yourUpdate will also notify passengers automatically if their gate is to be changed.

No matter what airport around the world passengers are departing from on an Austrian Airlines flight, the domestic carrier will notify them in advance if they will need to adjust their travel plans.
