This year Bali Tourism Agency planned to promote its tourism in the domestic and international markets, in spite of inadequate funds. Bali witnessed an increase of around 13.55 percent in last year’s foreign tourist visits in comparison to the preceding year, though the promotions team had low budget.
Bali joined the biggest annual tourism promotions event overseas, the Internationale Tourismus-Börse (ITB) in Berlin, and an Indonesian festival in Melbourne. Moreover participating in promotional events, the agency too focused on indirect activities, for example through mass media, leaflets, interactive CDs, and some other items.
The 2014 Bali and Beyond Travel Fair (BBTF) is set to be the first and only promotional fair on the Indonesian resort island and there has yet to be any other event, even less of such a scale to date. BBTF will ask other areas to collaborate in the event, besides promoting the province. BBTF will start from June 10 to 14 in the Nusa Dua area and Kuta.
