Bernama Branch to Invest Into Travel & Tourism Area

globeBernama Systems & Solutions Advisor Sdn Bhd (BESSAR) has publicized that it is expanding into the travel and tourism sector.

 

BESSAR, incorporated in September 2002, is the technical arm of Malaysian national news agency Bernama and is involved in information technology business, including developing solutions, content creation, and
newsroom systems.

Muniyati Muhamad, Chief Executive Officer of BESSAR said BESSAR had decided to buy a 60 percent venture in Goodwill Travel and Tours Sdn Bhd.

 

She said BESSAR’s existing 500 corporate clients nationwide would synergy well with Goodwill following the acquisition.

According to Muniyati it was appropriate time for BESSAR to invest into the tourism industry, which was estimated to contribute about 10 percent to BESSAR’s income and indirectly to Bernama’s earnings.

As per the Economic Transformation Programme report, Malaysia is the ninth most-visited country in the international tourism world and earns RM1 billion per week from foreign visitors.

 

Under the 12 initiatives proposed under ETP’s National Key Economic Areas, the tourism industry is poised to grow by three times and will contribute RM3 billion in terms of receipts per week to the country in 2020.

Goa To Host Eight Edition of Force Gurkha Rainforest Challenge India 2014 Goa Tourism has partnered with the Force Gurkha Rainforest Challenge (RFC) India 2014, which is set to take place from 8-14 August as the Tourism Partner.

 

The Government of Goa has come forward to lend support to the launch edition of India’s first ever international level off-road motorsport event.

The forthcoming event is the eight edition of RFC which is an imitative of Malaysia’s Rainforest Challenge – one of the toughest and the most globally represented motorsport events in the world.

 

Including domestic and international, above 40 teams, are likely to
take part in the launch edition of Force Gurkha RFC India.

Furthermore, hundreds of off-road fans representing all major off-road clubs of the country plus a huge number of touring adventurers will be rushing to Goa to observe this historic occasion.
Tourism Goa intends to encourage adventure lovers to visit the state during the monsoons and experience the other ‘wilder’ side of Goa. As per Nikhil Desai, Director-Tourism, Government of Goa, the event has a synergy with their aim of promoting Goa as a destination for adventure tourists.

 

Ashish Gupta, Founder and Director, Cougar Motorsport, the company responsible for bring the event to India, said the wild monsoons of Goa will be the perfect environment for the Force Gurkha RFC India, giving adventure lovers something to look forward to and also generate good revenue for the tourism industry in Goa.
