ALL ON BOARD TO GROW BUSINESS TOURISM FOR NORTHERN IRELAND IN 2014Tourism enterprises from around Northern Ireland came together at the SS Nomadic in Belfast this week, for a workshop and networking event organised by Tourism Ireland.

The event was attended by hoteliers, as well as representatives of various venues and visitor attractions. It explored ways to grow business tourism – which includes meetings, conferences, events and incentive travel – for the tourism enterprises themselves, and for Northern Ireland, in 2014 and beyond. Promotional opportunities for next year were discussed with the Tourism Ireland marketing teams from GB, Mainland Europe and North America.

David Boyce, Tourism Ireland’s head of business tourism in GB, said: “Tourism Ireland promotes Northern Ireland as a top business tourism destination, in Great Britain and across the world – to ensure more business tourism buyers put Northern Ireland on their ‘wish-list’ for their international meetings, conferences, events and incentive travel. Business tourism is an extremely important, high yield sector, which can deliver significant economic benefits for the host destination. Our workshop in the SS Nomadic this week was designed to help our partners here become more involved in, and maximise, our business tourism sales and promotional opportunities overseas in 2014 and beyond.”
