Bonaire has once again received top honors and secured seven different awards in Scuba Diving Magazine’s Readers’ Choice Awards, including three #1 ratings, underlining the island’s long held reputation as a diver’s paradise.
For the 21st consecutive year, Bonaire has taken first place for the #1 Shore Diving Destination.
The #1 Caribbean/Atlantic region rankings received by Bonaire include Best Macro Diving, Best Shore Diving and Best Beginner Diving. The #2 rankings include Best Overall Destination and Best Marine Environment. Bonaire is also ranked #3 for Best Overall Diving and #4 for Best Visibility.

These awards demonstrate the results of our efforts. These awards and all of the Bonaire divers, who voted, inspire us to continue with our direction and remain a leader in sustainable tourism.”
For the Readers’ Choice Awards, thousands of Scuba Diving subscribers and web users rated their dive experiences on a scale of one to five. Results of the 2014 Awards are featured in the January/February issue of Scuba Diving magazine.
In addition to the Reader’s Choice Awards, Scuba Diving magazine also released their annual Top 100 Gold List and Bonaire continued its dominance with several high rankings; #1-Best 24/7 Dive Destination, #16 Best Dive Resort/Buddy Dive Resort Bonaire and #34 Best Marine Park. Rankings are based on the total number of responses, regardless of category and those listed are determined on a “popularity contest” basis.
