Botanical Garden in Cordoba presents exhibition in homage to flowers

Spain_TourismThe Botanical Garden in Cordoba, beside the Cordoba Museum of Fine Arts, the Cordoba Archaeological Museum and the Madinat al-Zahra archaeological site, presents an exhibition in homage to all the flowers that decorate the courtyards of Cordoba every May.

This initiative was started after UNESCO awarded the Intangible World Heritage designation to the courtyards of Cordoba, and involves selecting different works that display elements from the plant world, along with special explanatory information.

In parallel, the Cordoba Botanical Garden contains specific plants that are accompanied by a reproduction of the work.

On this occasion, the Cordoba Museum of Fine Arts is participating with Still Life with Oranges (1863) by Rafael Romero Barros, Memory of Africa.

Sephardic bride (1878) by the same artist, Small festivity (early 20th century) by Lozano Sidro and The fountain in the museum courtyard (1990) by Rafael Botí.The exhibition runs until December 29, 2013.
