With Brazil hosting the 2008 football World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games, the South American country is not only coming up as a hot tourist destination for sports lovers but also as a strong sports business industry. The sports industry in Brazil is growing on every measure imaginable representing a huge opportunity for the international business of sport. Sports industry executives have been collectively beating a path to Brazil keen to explore and develop these opportunities into profitable business. There is a need for infrastructure and experience which brings with it major opportunities for those organisations looking to expand. Brazil presents a unique prospect to the sports industry. It has shrugged off the effects of global recession, is expanding rapidly and its industries are moving steadily upward.
