Celebrate the New Year by sharing three Michelin star Lung King Heen’s Chinese New Year puddings with family and friends, then spend festive nights at the Hotel, a home away from home for guests from all over the world.


Sweet and Sticky Treats

Almost every Chinese family serves countless puddings to friends and relatives on the first days of the Lunar Year in hope that everyone prospers in the year to come. This year, Chinese Executive Chef Chan Yan Tak developed a new recipe using chrysanthemum and honey, a classic pairing for Chinese tea, as ingredients for the sweet Lunar New Year pudding. In Chinese medicine, chrysanthemum had numerous benefits including detoxification of the liver. Chef Tak prefers Hangzhou chrysanthemum to steep a slightly bitter and fragrant base that finishes with a clean aftertaste. Winter honey adds a hint of sweetness to the pudding making it the best dessert to be shared among loved ones.

A perennial favourite of local guests, Lung King Heen puddings come in three additional flavours, all handmade and produced in small quantities by the star team helmed by Chef Tak.

Chinese New Year Puddings and Hampers

Lunar New Year pudding with chrysanthemum and honey – HKD 388 per box
Water chestnut pudding with red dates and lotus root – HKD 388 per box
Abalone turnip pudding with conpoy – HKD 438 per box
Taro pudding with air-dried meat – HKD 298 per box


Send well wishes of luck and fortune to friends and families by gifting them with Lung King Heen Chinese New Year mampers. Guests can choose from Lung King Heen Ultimate, Lung King Heen Deluxe and Lung King Heen Gourmet, priced at HKD 13,888, HKD 3,988 and HKDv2,988 respectively. All hampers include a fine selection of auspicious gourmet treats that represent good luck, prosperity and health. The Ultimate hamper has a total of 24 lavish items, including deluxe black mushroom, five to six heads dried fish maw, Guyue Chen Hua Diao 20 years wine, six heads South African abalone and more.


All puddings and hampers are available to order from December 26, 2016; hampers will be ready for collection from January 9, 2017; puddings are available for pick up between January 20 and 27, 2017; all at the Festive Desk from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm.

Guests can save 15 percent if puddings are ordered and payment is made before January 13, 2017.
