Amb Barry Faure and Board Members of the Seychelles Tourism Board have met with Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture on the proposed restructuring of the Seychelles Tourism Board. The meeting took place in the Minister’s Conference Room at the National Cultural Centre in Victoria. The meeting was also attended by Anne Lafortune, the PS for Tourism, Sherin Naiken, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board and her Deputy Nathalie Didon and Benjamine Rose, the PS for Culture. The Chairman of the Tourism Board and his Board Members discussed in detail the proposed restructure which will now make marketing of Seychelles the sole responsibility of the Tourism Board. All Policy and other Administrative responsibilities of the Board will now be move to the Department of Tourism at the Ministry of Tourism and Culture. After the discussions the Chairman and Board Members of the Seychelles Tourism Board confirmed their support for the proposed restructuring of the Tourism Board saying that it was always important to see the tourism industry as a ‘Business’ and structures remodeled to suit that vital industry that remains the pillar of the Seychelles economy. Minister St.Ange on his part said that he appreciated the positive feedback from the Board of Directors of the Tourism Board and assured them of his continued support.
