South-Africa-SeychellesThe Seychelles islands are witnessing amazing trapeze acts, funny clowns and many more traditional circus performances; through the Magic Circus of Samoa’s first show as Thursday.

This is their first visit to the Indian Ocean archipelago of the Seychelles and , the troupe’s leader, Tupa’i Bruno Loyale has promised a show of a lifetime to all the Seychellois.
“We have one of the funniest clowns in the world touring with us, Toetu the clown standing less than a metre in height and his huge funny partner Coconut will leave the audience falling off their seats with un-containable laughter,” said Mr Loyale.

Seychelles, once counted as one of the very few countries in the world that was yet to experience a live circus performance on its soil – is now being treated to the acts of the Magic Circus of Samoa.

The 29-strong team arrived in Seychelles on 20 September; and have been settling in ever since in preparation for the shows to be held from 10 October to 29 October.

During a meeting with the Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture, Alain St.Ange, Mr Loyale stated that the troupe was quite happy to be in the country – after such a long wait.

In fact the Magic Circus of Samao had planned on touring the Seychelles a few years ago – but the trip had to be cancelled after Somali pirates seized the vessel carrying all their equipment when it was still off the African Coast.

Mr St.Ange also explained that he was pleased with their troupe’s decision to perform in Seychelles as this provides for the Seychellois, young and old, who have never before seen a circus live, the chance to do so.

“We have many young people who have not travel much, but would really like to a see a live circus. Now that the Magic Circus of Samoa is in Seychelles, this will provide them with a once in a lifetime opportunity,” said Minister St.Ange.

Meanwhile for those who are already on tenterhooks – eagerly awaiting the performance of the pacific islands based troupe – they may attend nightly shows from tonight at the Freedom square in Victoria, as of 6.00pm.

Mr Loyale has also explained that daily shows will be held only at Freedom square from 6.00pm during the week and two shows on the weekends beginning at 2.00pm and 6.00pm. The Big Circus Tent that is today sitting in Victoria holds up to 600 people per show, there is no way Seychellois can miss out!
