Country Inns & Suites By CarlsonSM, a leading upper-midscale hotel brand, today announced the launch of a brand wide book drive benefiting Read Indeed, an international charity founded in 2008 by then 8-year-old, Maria Keller, and has distributed nearly 1.9 million books to children in need.
The book drive is also part of the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group 13th annual Responsible Business Action Month and marks the second year in a row the two organizations have teamed up.
“We are thrilled to partner with Read Indeed again this year to bring books to youth in need and we are excited to launch the program on National Literacy Day,” said Dan Sweiger, vice president, Brand Marketing, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group. “Supporting our communities and engaging our employees is very important to Country Inns & Suites as is reading. We also encourage our guests to grab a book from our signature Read It & Return Lending LibrarySM.”
The book drive will run at participating hotels in the US and Canada from September 8-30 with additional donation sites located at the Country Inns & Suites corporate headquarters in Minneapolis. Read Indeed is asking for new or gently used books with a focus on books for children and teens.
