A Delta Air Lines plane with 155 passengers makes an emergency landing at the Hunter Army Airfield due to electrical storm in the Atlanta region.
Latest reports confirmed that the plane was scheduled to fly from LaGarudia airport to Savannah before storms forced an emergency landing.
Officials have confirmed that the Delta flight experienced a fuel emergency after being placed in a holding position by air traffic controllers in Atlanta due to an electrical storm in the area.
The Delta Air Lines flight 1947 landed at the Hunter Army Airfield at around 4 p.m. on Friday.
The similar storm conditions prevented the flight to head towards Savannah-Hilton Head International Airport.
According to the latest reports the flight is awaiting a possible take off to make its onward journey to Savannah.
