Delta Foundation Donates $50,000 to Idaho Nonprofit Organizations

DeltaThe Delta Air Lines Foundation has donated $50,000 to support the efforts of charitable and nonprofit organizations that offer educational and wellness programs and provide assistance to those in need in Idaho. The Foundation’s giving benefits organizations in cities Delta serves including Boise, Idaho Falls, Lewiston, Pocatello, Sun Valley and Twin Falls.

Recipient organizations include local chapters of the United Way; the YMCA and YWCA; as well as Junior Achievement; the Idaho Foodbank; the Idaho Community Foundation, Higher Ground and the American Red Cross.

“Giving back to the communities where Delta people work and live is a core tenet of the Delta culture,” said Tad Hutcheson, vice president – Community Affairs for Delta. “Delta has a long history of serving Idaho and its residents, and we are fortunate to be in a position to help advance the missions of these worthwhile institutions.”

The Delta Air Lines Foundation is a nonprofit corporation formed in 1968 to enhance Delta’s charitable giving. The Foundation is focused on the key areas of health and wellness, arts and culture, education and diversity and contributions are unrestricted, allowing recipients to use the funds where they are needed the most.

Delta Air Lines serves more than 160 million customers each year. Delta was named by Fortune magazine as the most admired airline worldwide in its 2013 World’s Most Admired Companies airline industry list, topping the list for the second time in three years.
