The Madison hotel, located in the heart of Washington, D.C., departed the Destination Hotels & Resorts collection in January 2013 with the sale of the hotel to Loews Hotels & Resorts. Destination Hotels & Resorts was selected to manage the hotel in January 2011 by the owner, Jamestown, a leading real estate acquisition and asset management firm. Destination’s hospitality management expertise and experience in repositioning luxury and urban hotels facilitated the reestablishment of the hotel to an iconic presence in Washington, D.C.

Destination Hotels & Resorts is a leader in repositioning, marketing and creating value for hospitality assets. Under the Destination stewardship, the hotel has returned to its rightful place as a distinguished hotel in the Nation’s Capital. In March 2012, The Madison completed a $22 million restoration and renovation that also included the launch of The Federalist Restaurant in October 2011, now recognized as one of D.C.’s most innovative dining experiences. The repositioning and renovation included full guest room design, meeting space, the PostScript Café and The Lobby Bar. Destination Hotels & Resorts’ emphasis on personalized service guided the hotel in its return to a premier Washington, D.C. hotel. Destination’s customized marketing solutions including online reputation management system, Revinate, allowed the hotel to focus on customer service and track success. The hotel went from 107 on the TripAdvisor Popularity Index to a ranking of number eleven in the marketplace.

The Madison is a 356 room luxury hotel just blocks away from the White House, the U.S. Capitol, Embassy Row, the National Mall and Smithsonian Museums.
