the world’s largest travel site today revealed the list of top destinations for this Diwali weekend. The list is based on destinations searched from India for the period October 23 to October 26, 2014.

Nikhil Ganju, Country Manager, TripAdvisor India says, “Over the last couple of years we have seen an increasing number of people opting to travel for leisure rather than go to their hometowns especially if a festival falls closer to a weekend. This trend is more visible in metros since they are more cosmopolitan in nature. The fact that Diwali is predominantly a north Indian festival, people from other parts of the country staying in Delhi prefer to travel rather than stay put.”
