This is 9.2% more than the number of passengers serviced by the airport in 2012 and is the absolute maximum in the history of the Moscow Air Hub.

The thirty-million landmark was reached in December of 2013 when Robert Arutyunayn, an eight-year-old boy, who became a ‘milestone passenger’ of the airport passed the flight check-in. Last year the number of young travelers of Domodedovo grew up to 1.28 million people, which is 30.8% more than in 2012. In its turn, the air hub does everything to make sure that young passengers’ experience at the airport becomes the beginning of an exciting journey. So, in 2013 a playroom for children was opened in the International Airlines Departure Gallery and successfully supplemented the services available for young passengers at the airport.

Domodedovo offers extensive travel opportunities for all passengers regardless of their age and destination they choose. In 2013, 12 more new destinations were launched, 10 of which became unique for the Moscow Aviation Hub: Alexandroupoli, Bremen, Baden-Baden, Leipzig, Vinnica, Nha Trang, Sevastopol, Ivano-Frankivsk, Sarajevo, Manchester. Domodedovo was also recognized to be the Best Russian Airport for the sixth time becoming the winner of the Travel.ru award given following the results of online tourism services users voting. This status of the air harbor was also confirmed by respondents of the world’s largest travel site TripAdvisor which published the data of the annual air travel survey.

Prestigious awards and recognition of passengers are the result of the efforts of Domodedovo Airport aimed at creating comfortable conditions for travelers. In 2013, the air hub increased the number of long-term parking lots and introduced new attractive tariffs for this kind of services. Two kilometers away from the passenger terminal building of the airport complex there was opened a new parking lot P7 which can house 342 cars for long-term parking. Additional parking facilities at Domodedovo increased the total number of parking lots to 4,188. Passengers who are subscribers of Beeline, MTS and Megafone mobile operators can pay for the parking services using their cell phones: in 2013, the SMS-parking system was introduced. Domodedovo became the first Russian airport providing such service. In addition to this type of payment traditional payment methods are also available for passengers: by cash and bank cards. Owners of bicycles and motorcycles now have an opportunity to leave their vehicles in the parking lot: opening of special areas for two-wheelers at the parking lots was yet another step aimed at developing the airport infrastructure.

A wide range of services offered by Domodedovo allows its passengers to be more mobile: in line with the worldwide trends, the largest airport of this country is developing check-in and payment services alternatives, introducing unique technologies. Last year, Domodedovo became the first airport in Russia and the CIS to install SITA WorldTracer kiosks which reduce the misrouted passenger baggage tracking and recovery time. In 2013, high-speed wireless internet became is available to the passengers of the largest air hub of the country: 4G/LTE-network was launched in the territory of the airport complex making it possible to transfer data at 100 Mbit per second.
