The coolest place around to ring in 2014 will be Downtown Montgomery, once again! The Downtown Countdown New Year’s Eve Celebration will be December 31 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. The event will take place on Commerce Street in the entertainment district and will be FREE for all to enjoy.
The night will include live entertainment from Black Jacket Symphony and Rhythm Nation playing party hits to celebrate the end of one year and the beginning of a new one. Local food vendors and bars will have outdoor stands to purchase food and drinks throughout the night. At midnight there will be a fireworks display launched from Riverfront Park aligned with Commerce Street for excellent sightlines from the party. Skywriting and confetti cannons will go off as the New Year commences.
Last year’s event drew over 5,000 people and was a total success, driving business for downtown vendors and offering a safe, fun, family friendly way for residents and guests to enjoy a street party like no other in Alabama.
