EasyJet flight makes emergency landing in Rome one crew member injured in turbulence

emergency-landing-300x225A Naples bound EasyJet flight carrying 154 passengers made an emergency landing in Rome due to severe turbulence.

 

The plane was travelling from Gatwick to Naples, but while passing over Italy the plane was hit by turbulence.

 

The crew members were badly injured. The turbulence was caused due to heavy thunderstorm.

The captain had to divert the flight to avoid heavy thunderstorm close to Naples and was forced to land in Rome.

Passengers recounted the experience as terrifying. The plane made a nosedive causing crew members to hit the ceiling.

 

One of the crew members suffered a hip bone fracture. A spokesperson from easyJet confirmed that their pilots are highly trained to manage turbulence.

The crew members who succumbed to a fracture was attended by paramedics in Rome Fiumicino airport as per procedure.

The plane made a safe landing and all passengers safely disembarked from the plane.
