Edinburgh Airport has welcomed the decision by easyJet to introduce the first direct flight to London Southend from 2 May this year.
The new link will operate six times per week from Edinburgh Airport, with tickets going on sale today (7 February).
The additional flights mean Edinburgh will now be connected to all London airports, providing our passengers with fast access to the City and the surrounding area, as well as easy connections to numerous worldwide destinations.
Edinburgh Airport Chief Executive, Gordon Dewar, said: “Providing our passengers with the best choice of destinations is a key priority of Edinburgh Airport and we are delighted that easyJet will soon be flying directly to London Southend. This will no doubt provide greater flexibility for our business travellers who will be able to fly to all London airports from Edinburgh.
“The last few months has seen us work very closely with our friends at easyJet to enhance the services we provide to our customers. In addition to this latest announcement, easyJet will add a seventh aircraft to Edinburgh Airport in March and launch new routes to some of the most exciting places in the world, including Prague, Dubrovnik and Copenhagen.”
