Most efficient mobile travel apps in US – rankings revealed

While tracking the success of these mobile travel apps, we also get a fair idea of the traveller preferences and the feasibility of mobile bookings and efficiency of the apps.

App Annies is a Beijing based mobile analytics company that makes this study easier with their comparison data and estimates over regular interval. App Annie’s statistics for downloads also gives us an idea of the investment analytics and a detailed market research. The recent App Annie’s monthly travel indexes categorize travel apps by four subcategories: “travel aggregator”, “hotel and lodging,” “ground transportation”, and “airlines”.

 

Considering the trend of downloading mobile travel apps across the US on Apple and Android platforms, here is a list of the top 10 mobile apps according to the study:

 
1) Uber
2) Hotels.com
3) Expedia
4) TripAdvisor
5) Fly Delta
6) Lyft
7) Southwest Airlines
8) KAYAK
9) Priceline
10) United Airlines
The above list is a mixture of all the categories.

 

AIRLINES
According to the survey, the most downloaded airline apps in June in the US across Apple and Android platforms were Delta, Southwest and AA. Here is the list of the 10 most popular airline mobile apps.

4) American Airlines
5) US Airways
6) JetBlue
7) Alaska Airlines

HOTELS
Apart from the ones in the first list there are quite a few popular hotel mobile apps that are downloaded in the US. Among them, the most downloaded hotels and lodging apps in the US in June were, in order: Airbnb, Marriott, HomeAway, Hilton, IHG, SPG, Choice, and Dwellable.

 
Travel Aggregators
When it comes to Travel aggregators, the US citizens have always chosen some of the most popular names in the international circuit. Hotels.com, Expedia and TripAdvisor remains the top three. Here is the list of the 10 best travel aggregator mobile apps.
