AmuseeVous-MAF-C-MargotWolfs-300x198A fun-packed night in Brussels’ museums, tailor-made for young people! On Saturday 22 February, Brussels’ museums will be where it’s at! For this 7th Museum Night Fever, the annual big night out in the city’s museums; with no less than 24 museums showcasing the best they can offer.

Museum Night Fever is an event where the museums stay open until the early hours, attracting young people in huge numbers for an offbeat programme: a strong and sparkling winter cocktail of exhibitions, concerts, performances, fashion, workshops and DJs! And it’s back on February 22nd, 2014 … featuring museums as you’ve never seen them before, with a contemporary and unconventional twist! And for those of you who will still be brimming with energy even after the museums have closed their doors, the night will go on at one of the afterparties.

Here’s a small taste of some of the activities that stand out…

Discover La Monnaie during an evening entirely inspired by the theme of ‘revolution’, featuring a son et lumière show in the large theatre, a variety of workshops and a sleepover in the orchestra pit (a first!) for 20 lucky people. The theme of war continues in the Museum of the Armed Forces with its ‘14-18’ exhibition, a thundering fanfare from the Balkans and a moving theatrical performance.

The rooms in the Museum of Natural Sciences will once again be transformed into a gigantic experimental space of body painting, video mapping, photography and graphic creation. At the Charlier Museum, visitors will be turning into artists during ceramic, sculpture and drawing workshops. At the Parlamentarium, Europe provides the inspiration for a large dance project accompanied by live music and words, including a modern ball directed by 20 young choreographers. Lastly, at the art & marges museum you will able to take part in a collective work and at the Palace of Charles of Lorraine you can indulge in a fashion happening with original creations inspired by life at court in the 18th century. Etcetera!

Museum Night Fever is also an opportunity to discover a whole range of interesting exhibitions: Zurbarán and Michäel Borremans (opening 22/2!) at BOZAR, Franz Erhard Walther at WIELS, Duane Hanson at Ixelles Museum, ‘14-18. It’s our history’ at the Museum of the Armed Forces, SAX200 at the Museum of Musical Instruments, ‘The Neo-Impressionist Portrait’ at the ING Cultural Centre, an exhibition on the 1970s at the Costume and Lace Museum…
