MRK_314_aspect16x9-300x168Four Seasons Resort Marrakech celebrates its first olive harvest in the fall season. Morocco is the fifth largest olive producer in the world, and the noble art of cultivating olives and extracting oil is deeply rooted in the Moroccan tradition. Therefore, for the fall season, the team at Four Seasons Resort Marrakech is happy to reiterate this local tradition.

For the harvest day, gardeners as well as employees of the Resort carefully picked olives from the beautiful olive trees spread out in the 40 acre (16 hectare) Resort gardens, carried them in authentic wicker baskets and sent them to a traditional oil press to obtain delicate virgin oil.The Resort’s talented Chefs now use the virgin oil to enhance the flavour of their savoury and mouthwatering dishes for guests.

The olive oil will soon be available for purchase at the boutique of the Maarifa Cultural Centre as well. This year’s production of olive oil is the latest among several natural ingredients cultivated at Four Seasons Resort Marrakech, and represents a perfect match for the exquisite herbs and plants coming from the Resort’s organic garden.
