Federal Budget Agreement Passage a Win for U.S. Airports

aci-north-americaAirports Council International-North America (ACI-NA) today issued a statement in response to the passage of the federal budget agreement:

“Today’s passage of the bipartisan budget agreement is of particular significance for airports,” said Deborah McElroy, ACI-NA’s interim president. “We are very pleased that the agreement directs TSA to continue its exit lane monitoring responsibilities at 155 airports, which is a common-sense solution for aviation security. We’re also heartened that this agreement safeguards Airport Improvement Program funding from being used to cover future FAA funding shortfalls, which will allow America’s airports to continue making the necessary infrastructure investments to ensure that the U.S. remains competitive. ACI-NA looks forward to President Obama signing this bill into law very soon.”
