First Miss Amity Thailand-China Beauty Pageant to be held in Thailand

Thailand-China-Beauty-PageantThailand is to host the first joint beauty pageant for Thai and Chinese contestants on 11November, 2014, at the Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladphrao Bangkok.

The “Miss Amity Thailand-China 2014” will be held under the management supervision of the Huilong International Media and Service Co., Ltd.

 

It is being supported by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) as part of the strategy to build friendship between the two countries and further boost visitor arrivals from Thailand’s largest source market.

 

Part of the proceeds from the pageant will also be donated to the Foundation for the Welfare of the Crippled under the Royal Patronage of Her Royal Highness the Princess Mother, and the Pavena Hongsakul Foundation for children and women.
 
TAT Governor Mr. Thawatchai Arunyik, said “TAT is expecting this event will further boost awareness of Thailand among Chinese visitors and worldwide as a destination of rich culture, beautiful tourist attractions and superb facilities. TAT is increasingly using such pageants and contests to reach new target customer segments worldwide. On TV, such programmes regularly attract very high ratings, especially amongst women and youth.”
 
The event was officially announced on 8 August, 2014, at a press conference at the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce office in Bangkok.

 

The first round selection of Thai beauty contestants will be held on 25 October, 2014, at the Eastin Grand Hotel Sathorn Bangkok and the second round on 1 November, 2014, at the same venue. The 15 Thai final contestants will be announced on the same day.
 
On 3 November, the other 15 Chinese final contestants will arrive in Bangkok and be greeted at Suvarnabhumi Airport by the 15 Thai final contestants.

 

Between 4-7 November, 2014, the 30 contestants will visit tourist attractions; such as, the Emerald Buddha in Bangkok, and the Nong Nooch Garden and Resort in Pattaya and Sattahip Naval Base.
 
The winner of the Miss Amity Thailand-China 2014 will receive prize money of one million Baht in cash and a car. The first-runner up will receive 500,000 Baht, and the second-runner up will receive 300,000 Baht. All three will also receive a crown and trophy, gift vouchers and publicity.

 

Winners of seven special categories; such as, Miss Perfect Body, Miss Sexy Bikini, Miss Friendly Thai-Chinese, Miss Healthy Skin, Miss Beautiful Hair, Miss Beautiful Costume, and Miss Photogenic will receive prize money ranging from 20,000-10,000 Baht in cash, a crown and trophy and gift vouchers.
 
After the pageant, Miss Amity Thailand-China 2014, along with the two runners up will take part in a number of promotional public appearances in Thailand and China, especially at events contributing to social welfare and charities.
