Incorporating lavender, peppermint and camomile, The Hampshire Herbal Massage is a soothing and calming treatment available to experience throughout spring.

Taking inspiration from herbal remedies used to cure common complaints in Jane Austen’s time, The Spa team has created an aromatic treatment incorporating traditional herbs found in the Hampshire countryside.

Used for its calming and sedative qualities, camomile provides a tonic lift to the body with its bittersweet scent, bringing a sense of calm and balance. The refreshing aroma of lavender awakens and revitalises the mind, while the cooling effect of peppermint soothes and heals the skin.

The 90 minute experience starts with a gentle foot ritual using a compress, followed by a soothing full body massage. Techniques including long strokes and pointing are used on the arms and legs, while steamed herbal balls infused in warm grape seed oil are softly placed on the back in a series of stretching and opening movements to provide total relaxation. The therapy concludes with a facial massage incorporating cold stones to cool and uplift, using gentle pressure to rejuvenate and firm the complexion of the skin.
