Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica Celebrates 10 Years of Pura Vida in Paradise

FOUR-SEASONS-RESORT-300x168Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica today kicked off a year of celebration in honour of the Resort’s first 10 years ofpura vida in the paradise that is northwest Costa Rica and the exclusive Peninsula Papagayo. The Resort was designed by renowned Central American architect Ronald Zurcher more than a decade ago on an untouched area of the Peninsula Papagayo and has been maintained in a way that has helped preserve and nurture local flora and fauna.

In addition, the Resort has helped support the local community, people and talent of Guanacaste. The majority of employees at Four Seasons Costa Rica are from Costa Rica; some of the members of the original team are still with the property after 10 years and many have been promoted to management roles at the Resort during that time.

Major milestones for Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica over the past 10 years include:

2004 – Resort named to Condé Nast Traveler Hot List during first year of operations
2007 – Designation of golf course at the Resort as a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary and creation of the popular Trail of Giants environmental golf tour for guests
2008 – Four Seasons Costa Rica begins work with Creciendo Juntos social responsibility program for Peninsula Papagayo; from 2008-2013, the Resort has helped raise more than USD 530,000 in donations and equipment for local families and schools in Guanacaste as well as donations of 1,300 backpacks for students; guests havevolunteered for more than 280 experiences at local schools including reading to children, playing soccer and doing arts and crafts
2011 – First real grass tennis court at any Four Seasons property worldwide as well as first in Central America, opens on Christmas Day at Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica
2011 – New state-of-the-art Liberia International Airport terminal opened
2011 – el Armadillo event pavilion opened at Resort to host weddings and corporate events
2012 – Andrea Arroyo named first Clef D’ors concierge ever in Costa Rica and Central America
2013 – Luxury surf school opened at Playa Blanca at Resort with partner Tropicsurf
2012-13 – New culinary experiences including Garden Table at the organic garden at Caracol steakhouse, Chef’s Table experience at Di Mare restaurant and Costa Rican chocolate class launch
2013 – Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica named to Travel + Leisure 2013 World’s Best Service Awards
2013 – Spa at Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica selected by Condé Nast Traveler Reader’s Choice 2013 as one of 25 most highly ranked spas worldwide
