Four-Seasons-Safari-300x168This March, Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti will host a second wildlife photographer, Nick Garbutt, as part of its Wildlife Photographer in Residence program. Nick will be visiting the Lodge from March 8 to 20, 2014.

These Photo Safaris will offerFour Seasons guests the chance to be joined by a photography expert for a full day to ensure they return home with incomparable wildlife photos. Nick will be on hand to accompany guests on their game drives and offer advice and photo tips throughout their safari. Alternatively, Nick can simply take photos on their behalf so that guests have professional, quality memories to share with friends and family once back home.

Nick is an award-winning wildlife photographer and author; his travels have taken him from the Poles to the Tropics, and he regularly leads photo tours to Africa. His images appear in publications globally, while his own books have received wide critical acclaim. Nick regularly contributes articles and photographs to a wide range of magazines such as National Geographic, Africa Geographic, BBC Wildlife and Outdoor Photography. In 2000, Nick was awarded the prestigious Gerald Durrell Award for Endangered Wildlife in the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition.

As part of his residency, Nick will share his knowledge and expertise, spanning over 25 years, with guests at the Lodge. On game drives he will offer photography tips, while back at the Discovery Centre he will advise on digital image processing and his own digital image-stitching techniques as well as offering slide shows.

Many of the images on display in the Discovery Centre were taken by Nick; part museum exhibit, part lecture theatre, the Discovery Centre is the first lodge-based conservation research and education platform in the Serengeti. The aim of the Discovery Centre is to educate guests about the ecology of the Serengeti and encourage them to learn more about the work that researchers and conservation organizations do within the Park.
