Global Traveler covers a range of travel-related topics including airlines, hotels, fine wines, and travel news from around the world. Its readers are primarily premium international business travelers, and their recognition of China Airlines as the best airline in North Asia is a testament to China Airlines’ unrelenting commitment to service quality. China Airlines continuously enhances services to meet the needs of passengers from the ground to 30,000 feet, including a brand new cabin design for its Boeing 747-400 aircraft, a mouthwatering selection of Western, Chinese, and local cuisine, mobile and digital services, innovative online marketing, and a suite of eco-friendly options.
At the December 10 award ceremony in Los Angeles, China Airlines Chairman Huang-hsiang Sun said the company will continue to provide the highest level of services for global travelers. In addition to delivering top-notch services based on its “Customer First” principle, China Airlines will introduce 28 new aircraft to its fleet between 2014 and 2018: 10 B777-300ER, which Global Traveler has just named “Best Aircraft Type,” 14 A359, three B737-800, and one A330-300 aircraft. The expanded fleet combined with new cabin interiors, service items, in-flight meals, and cabin crew uniforms will continue to delight passengers and give them a refreshing travel experience.
In August, China Airlines won fourth place in Global Traveler magazine’s “Best International First Class Wines on the Wing”. This year China Airlines also won Global Views magazine’s Service Excellence Awards based on customer service audits conducted by mystery survey agents, Management Magazine’s Consumer Brand Survey for the fifth consecutive year; and the Gold Trusted Brand Award in the Reader’s Digest 2013 Trusted Brands Survey. In addition to being named Top Aviation Brand in Manager Today magazine’s 2013 Power Brands Survey, China Airlines also won first place in the aviation category of 30 magazine’s Young Generation Brand Survey; first place in the transportation category of Business Next magazine’s Green Brand Survey as well as its Super Green grand jury prize; the Green Classics Award and National Standardization Award from Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs; the Enterprise Environmental Protection Award from the Environmental Protection Administration; and the International Trophy for the 22nd time at Pasadena’s Rose Parade.
