To showcase the tourism potential of Gujarat, the Gujarat Tourism in association with Sphere Travelmedia & Exhibitors will organize the third consecutive edition of Gujarat Travel Mart 2013 – The India Travel and Tourism Exhibition – from March 27-29 at the Mahatma Mandir Convention & Exhibition Centre in Gandhi Nagar.
The travel mart will help Gujarat reach out to the country’s biggest B2B travel marketplace.
The Gujarat Tourism sources said that over 200 buyers from over 30 countries, over 800 travel agents and 200 exhibitors from over 20 diverse tourism segments would take part in the tourism mart.
A B2B travel event would also be organized in Ahmedabad from March 27-29.
The hosted buyers from Netherlands, Kingdom of Bahrain, Australia, Canada, France, Greece, Israel, Japan, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, South Africa, Sri Lanka, UAE, UK, USA, South Africa and few others would take part in the event, sources added.
The buyer programme at the last year’s edition of Gujarat Travel Mart had a refundable caution deposit system for all buyers to enhance the seriousness of the event.
Being one of India’s biggest tourist attractions, the Gujarat pavilion will showcase different facets of the State such as its festivals, beaches, Mahatma Gandhi oriented tours, heritage hotels, Buddhist trails, wildlife resorts and national parks, medical tourism, destination management companies, travel agents and tour operators, religious tourism, handicrafts and cultural vistas.
Gujarat has shown an impressive growth rate of 10.4 per cent in the last five years, a figure that is higher than that of the “Asian Tigers”. Gujarat also contributes to 16 per cent of the country’s industrial production.
The event will be managed by ‘Sphere Travelmedia & Exhibitions Pvt.
