Hawaiian Airlines Promotes Jim Landers to Managing Director – Hawai‘i Maintenance

122759_hawaiian_airlinesHawaiian Airlines has promoted Jim Landers from director – strategic initiatives to managing director – Hawai‘i maintenance. In his new position, he is responsible for managing the maintenance, reliability and safety of Hawaiian Airlines’ fleet of Airbus A330-200, Boeing 767-300 and Boeing 717-200 aircraft.
 
“Since joining our company last year, Jim has been instrumental in establishing key organizational metrics that have improved our operational and financial performance,” said Lorrin Sardinha, Hawaiian Airlines vice president – maintenance & engineering. “His strong background in aviation operations is well suited to lead our maintenance department into a new era of growth as we add more aircraft to our superior fleet.”

 

Landers joined Hawaiian Airlines in 2013 as director – strategic initiatives where he was key in advancing Hawaiian Airlines’ interest in the complex Honolulu International Airport modernization project. Prior to joining Hawaiian, he had a distinguished career in the United States Navy with more than 25 years of experience in aviation operations and organizational leadership. He is a veteran of 42 combat support missions during conflicts in the Balkans and the Middle East, and held key assignments including Commanding Officer – USS Makin Island (LHD 8) and Director of Operations for Commander – U.S. Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor.

 

Landers holds a Master of Science degree in National Security Strategy & International Relations from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces at the National Defense University in Washington D.C. and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Mississippi.
