Buses will replace trains on the Long Island Rail Road between Farmingdale and Ronkonkoma for track work this Sunday, December 22 during the early morning hours from 12:45 AM until 7:30 AM.
Eastbound customers should expect added travel time up to 24 minutes depending on their destination. Westbound customers can anticipate added travel time of up to 40 minutes depending on their destination.
LIRR workers will be carrying out an important switch component replacement switch component replacement in the Brentwood area doing the seven hour outage.
Westbound
Westbound customers will board a bus at stations Ronkonkoma through Wyandanch at regular train time to Hicksville where they will board a train to resume their trip west. Customers should expect up to an additional 41 minutes of travel time. Approximately 840 westbound customers will be affected.
Bethpage and Farmingdale customers will board their normally scheduled train from their station.
Eastbound
Eastbound customers will board a bus at Hicksville for stations Wyandanch through Ronkonkoma. Customers should expect up to an additional 24 minutes travel time. The track outage is expected to affect approximately 1,183 eastbound customers. Customers heading for Bethpage and Farmingdale will stay on the train for their station.
