J&K looking for German help to boost tourism opportunities

KashmirJammu and Kashmir (J&K) have definitely taken its tourism agenda seriously. By hosting the J&K Travel Mart in Kashmir for the first time since 1998, the event is being attended by delegates from 20 countries.

 

But apart from this positive note Germany has assured the Jammu and Kashmir Government to transform the negative perception that people have about the valley. They will help tourist to believe that the valley is completely safe.

 

Germany’s Ambassador to India Michael Steiner was accompanied by his wife Elise to the J&K, where the Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed discussed about increasing European tourist footfalls with the Ambassador. He was also assured help in managing solid waste management where Germany has set a benchmark. This is an important practice and good thing for any tourist destination.

 

Chief Minister of J&K also proposed in holding Golf Tournaments for the European Union envoys in India in Phlegm or Srinagar.
