remote.jpg-300x108Southampton Airport currently has several exciting vacancies for female Security Officers which need to be filled next month, after being recently inundated with male applicants.

The full-time and part-time roles are based at the airport, working a shift pattern.

Applicants need no prior security experience or SIA licence – the emphasis in these roles is on excellent customer service. The successful applicants would be expected to start at the end of October.

Head of Security, Simon Young, said, “We always have far more men than women applying for security roles, but as we have a legal requirement to have female officers searching female passengers, it’s vital to the smooth running of the airport that we have a good balance. Full training is given to successful applications and they can expect plenty of variety in the role once they start.”

Security Officer, Linda Rogers, commented, “I’ve worked at the airport in various roles since 2003 and this is one of the most interesting jobs I have done. Working shifts suits my life perfectly; I can commute when it’s quieter and can be there for my family at times when others cannot. It’s challenging, but I love interacting with passengers and playing an important role in the safety and security of the airport.”
