In the week leading up to Super Bowl XLVIII, football fans can experience Super Bowl Boulevard Engineered by GMC, which will feature many fan interactive experiences that will excite any football fan, including a 60 feet high toboggan run that will be fun for the whole family. Super Bowl Boulevard runs for 13 blocks along Broadway in Midtown Manhattan. It’s just a short walk, subway or bus ride from Grand Central Terminal.
“The first-ever Super Bowl to be played in the New York region promises to be an exciting time for all football fans,” said Howard Permut, President of MTA Metro-North Railroad. “We’re hoping to make it as easy and convenient as possible for fans from all the cities and towns served by Metro-North to be a part of this historic experience.”
Metro-North will augment off-peak service to and from Manhattan by adding extra trains on all three main East of Hudson lines.
Extra Service: Wednesday, Jan. 29, to Friday, Jan. 31
Hudson Line
Metro-North will run an extra express train departing Poughkeepsie at 9:47 a.m. and making stops at New Hamburg, Beacon, Peekskill, Croton-Harmon and Harlem-125th Street and arriving at Grand Central at 11:25 a.m. This train is shaded light green in current timetables effective January 18.
Harlem Line
Metro-North will run an extra semi-express train departing Southeast at 10:08 a.m. and making stops at Brewster, Goldens Bridge, Katonah, Mt. Kisco, Chappaqua, Pleasantville, North White Plains and Harlem-125th Street and arriving at Grand Central at 11:31 a.m. This train is shaded light blue in current timetables effective January 18.
New Haven Line
Metro-North will run two extra express trains. Heading toward New York City, a train will depart New Haven at 9:21 a.m. and making stops at West Haven, Milford, Stratford, Bridgeport and Harlem-125th Street and arriving at Grand Central at 10:59 a.m.
Returning to Connecticut, an extra train will depart Grand Central at 11:11 p.m. and will stop at Harlem-125th Street, Westport, Fairfield, Fairfield Metro, Bridgeport, Stratford, Milford, and West Haven and arrive at New Haven at 12:56 a.m. These two trains are shaded pink in current timetables effective January 18.
Extra Service on Saturday, Feb. 1
Metro-North will run 17 extra New Haven Line trains and two extra Hudson Line trains as noted in current timetables. All 19 extra trains are highlighted with a red S in current timetables effective January 18.

Take the Train to the First “Mass Transit Super Bowl” — Sunday, February 2
Fans holding tickets to Super Bowl XLVIII will be able buy tickets in advance to ride the Fan Express bus from Grand Central right to the game. The bus will depart from 45th Street between Vanderbilt Avenue and Lexington Avenue. Buy tickets for the Fan Express bus here.
Fans holding tickets to Super Bowl XLVIII will also be able to take NJ Transit and select Amtrak trains from Penn Station to Secaucus, for a quick shuttle train to MetLife Stadium. Fans will be required show their game ticket at Secaucus before being allowed to connect to the MetLife Stadium shuttle train.
Getting to MetLife Stadium from any Metro-North station is just a one-ticket trip, even though you’ll be riding trains operated by multiple railroads. If buying a ticket at a ticket vending machine, select “M,” then “Meadowlands” as your destination. You’ll receive one ticket that is valid on all the trains you’ll ride to get to the stadium operated by Metro-North and NJ Transit.
Penn Station, at 33rd Street and Seventh Avenue, is just a brisk vigorous walk, short taxi ride or quick subway ride from Grand Central. To ride the subway, catch the S Subway Line Icon 42nd Street Shuttle to Times Square, then transfer to a downtown (Brooklyn-bound) 1 Subway Line Icon2 Subway Line Icon or 3 Subway Line Icon train and ride it one stop to 34th Street-Penn Station.
