The glamorous YUAN, award-winning buffet restaurant, Saffron and ever popular Asia Republic will feature special Chinese New Year menus and entertainment between 30th January to 7th February 2014.

Chinese New Year’s Eve, which falls on 30th January 2014, is an occasion when family members reunite from across the world, to share love and joy through celebrations and food. An occasion for Chinese families to gather for their annual reunion dinner, the Chinese New Year meal usually consists of a communal hot pot or dumplings which bear the cultural meaning of reunion, as well as dishes that symbolize good fortune or happiness.

Bringing in the Chinese New Year with a bang, guests at Atlantis will enjoy a variety of mouth-watering Oriental dining offerings and themed entertainment, along with a spectacular fireworks display on 30th January.

Visitors will also experience a 3 day traditional lion dance throughout the resort, a symbolic ritual to usher in the Chinese New Year and evict bad spirits from the premises for the coming period.

YUAN, Dubai’s most authentic Chinese eatery, will feature special a la carte menus throughout the period, with an additional themed lunch on the 31st January. Diners at the glamorous bar and lounge will enjoy contemporary Cantonese and Szechuan cuisine with a traditional twist- delicious dishes, beautifully crafted by Executive Chef Jeff Tan, formerly of Hakasan Mayfair, in a vibrant, stylish setting that mirrors a Siheyuan, a traditional Chinese house.

Larger families can enjoy the Chinese New Year themed buffet dinner at Saffron, starting at 248 AED, whilst the popular Asia Republic will feature a Chinese New Year menu for both lunch and dinner. Chinese music, themed decorations and mandarin plants will greet guests, as they enter both restaurants as diners are fully immersed in traditional festivities.

With gift – giving a prominent feature of the celebrations, both restaurants will present diners with a humbau, including a description of the Year of the Horse, fortune cookies, mandarin and chocolate coins.

Family favorite Kaleidoscope and Saffron will also feature Konjee, tea eggs and vegetable pickles, as part of the breakfast offering during the special season.

“We have ensured our Asian themed restaurants are offering a stunning array of choice when it comes to Chinese New Year celebrations,” commented Serge Zaalof, President and Managing Director of Atlantis, The Palm. “Guests celebrating Chinese New Year will not only enjoy a variety of traditional and modern Chinese dining offerings, we have also ensured that the smallest detail, including the decoration and entertainment are on theme, with a fantastic firework display and traditional lion dance to end the festivities, leaving visitors with a lasting memory of their time at Atlantis.” continued Zaalof.
