Loews Don Cesar Hotel Embraces The Holidays With Events For The Entire Community

Published on : Thursday, December 5, 2013

Loews-HotelRemember when you were a child (or adult) and dreamed of what it would be like to be a part of The Don CeSar holiday tradition? Now is your chance. The iconic “Pink Palace” on St. Pete Beach will embrace the spirit of the holidays this season with themed events and activities for people of all ages.

Cheerfully, General Manager Stephen Cummings remarked, ‘The holidays are synonymous with family, friends and good spirits! We have so much to be grateful for here at Loews Don CeSar, we want to share our good fortune with the community and our neighbors. We hope everyone will come out to our iconic home and enjoy what we feel the holidays are all about – giving back and spending time together!”

It all starts with live holiday entertainment in The Loews Don Cesar Lobby. Through a new partnership with the St. Petersburg Opera Company (SPO), and Maestro Mark Sforzini, the organization will be part of two live holiday performances.

The first will be Sunday, December 15 from 5-6 p.m. with Soprano Susie Hellman and Baritone Todd Donovan, both stars of the upcoming opera Susannah. The second event will be from 5-6 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18 when the SPO “Operators” dazzle guests with a cappella harmony in the style of barbershop quartets, but with the elegance and vocal quality of opera. Both SPO musical engagements are FREE and open to the public.

Self-parking is complimentary.

After the shows, guests can explore the new St. Petersburg Opera Company Tasting Menu in the award winning Maritana Grille. Developed by Chef de Cuisine Gavin Pera, the menu is inspired by the upcoming “Seasonal Sparkle” holiday musical celebration. The four-course menu is specially priced at $65 per person, plus tax and gratuity. The special menu runs from December 15-22, 2013.

For sand and sun lovers, join the team at Loews Don CeSar as they partner with Sanding Ovations in creating a Holiday ornament sand sculpture right on the beach behind the Pink Palace. This 25 foot long sculpture will be available for the community to decorate with items indigenous to the beaches of St. Pete starting December 18. Be sure to bring your own personal item to place on the ornament to leave your special touch!

On Saturday, December 21 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. join The Don outdoors at Sunsets’ Pavilion to celebrate the Winter Solstice, which marks the beginning of winter in the Northern Hemisphere and the “birth of the unconquered sun.” Festivities include live entertainment, unique, fun and holiday themed food samples – including s’mores on the beach – and a chance to stroll the grounds of Loews Don CeSar and enjoy the thousands of lights, decorations and our lighthearted upside down Christmas Tree. Winter Solstice is also FREE to the community, including complimentary self-parking.

And, while Santa will be busy getting ready to deliver gifts to all the good children of the world, Mrs. Claus will be reading traditional Christmas tales on Christmas Eve from 3-5 p.m. Complete with milk and cookies. Families are all welcome to make the evening a special night to remember.

Lastly, for those individuals who just can’t grasp the talent of gift-wrapping, Loews elves will be available at all events to provide complimentary wrapping services during “Wrappy Hours” at all official Loews Don CeSar Hotel events.
