London Gatwick Airport – response to EEF policy paper on infrastructure

Published on : Wednesday, August 20, 2014

Gatwick-Airport“Gatwick agrees that future infrastructure development, particularly airport capacity, is vital to Britain’s future.

Implicit in the need to bring on new infrastructure is the requirement that any solution is deliverable and is not hampered by complex political, environmental or construction issues. In this respect, Gatwick’s ability to open a new runway more quickly by 2025, at a much lower financial and environmental cost than other options, is a significant advantage.

“The solution must also be one that increases the choice available to British passengers making it cheaper to go on holiday, travel on business or export goods and services.

Building a new runway at Gatwick would encourage vigorous competition and give the UK two world-class London airports.”
