LouisianaThe touts of the Louisiana Office of Tourism get accreditation from the Destination Marketing Association International’s and they will help to promote it as a destination that does all the right things to promote tourism.

Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne, who oversees the office, said it is the second statewide tourism department to win the nod. The accreditation describes itself as working to advance the effectiveness of agencies that promote travel and Louisiana has certainly deserved to be included in the list.

Louisiana is doing everything right as results show by setting a record number of visitors in 2012. The tourism market campaign too has caught on well with tourists who confirm with the tag line “Pick Your Passion.”

Now Louisiana shares this distinction with six others New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Jefferson Convention and Visitors Bureau, Visit Baton Rouge, the Lake Charles/Southwest Louisiana Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourism Bureau and the Lafayette Convention and Visitors Commission. Getting the accreditation will help in boosting its tourism even further.
