Low Sugar Afternoon Tea at Axis Bar and Lounge

unnamed16-300x225In conjunction with World Diabetes Day, Axis Bar and Lounge introduces an Afternoon Tea with reduced sugar as part of its efforts to raise awareness on diabetes, one of the leading diseases in Singapore.

 

 

 

With a strong emphasis on whole grains, fruits and vegetables, the afternoon tea menu begins with a refreshing osmanthus jasmine jelly, followed by a savoury trio of poached lobster and chives cream on buckwheat pancakes, smoked duck and mushroom with coriander pesto and furikake spiced brown rice with tofu skin and soya dressing.

 

The extravagant experience continues with a third course of canapés, featuring cranberry and smoked turkey wrapped in arugula, marinated melon and Parma ham with aged balsamic,cured salmon on pumpernickel bread and open-faced tamago sandwich with crispy quinoa and togarashi. Enjoy classic Tahitian vanilla oat scones and cinnamon carrot scones, paired with a selection of TWG gourmet teas, as well as roasted butternut and raisin pies, tuna and spring onion puffs through the fourth course.

 

The fifth and last course showcases an exquisite three-tiered stand of desserts, which reflects the creativity of the award-winning pastry team at Mandarin Oriental, Singapore, as chefs cleverly put together sweet and wholesome treats without compromising on flavours.Delectable delights include the gala apple mousse, pistachio cassis moss, coconut kaffir lime dacquoise, pineapple chutney Malibu Chantilly choux and pandan fig tropizzine.
