lufthansa-300x65As a result of the current situation in Iraq, Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines will initially suspend flights to and from Erbil up until and including Monday 11 August.

Flights to Erbil are operated daily by Austrian Airlines from Vienna and twice a week by Lufthansa from Frankfurt.

Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines regret any inconvenience that these short-notice cancellations may cause their customers.

The safety of passengers and crews remains the company’s highest priority.
The airlines of the Lufthansa Group will continue to make a detour around Iraqi airspace, for example on flights to Asia and the Middle East.

The Group is involved in questions of airspace safety and remains in close and regular contact with the relevant national security authorities worldwide and in Iraq.
