“We’ve relocated the Ring & Ride wait zone so we could add more bays and to ensure people can still access the free wait zone while we construct our new domestic terminal,” said Mr Woodruff. “We’ve added a flight information display and people also now have access to free WIFI as they wait for arriving passengers.” “The Christmas period is Melbourne Airport’s busiest time of the year so we recommend people use the Ring & Ride wait zone if they are collecting passengers over the busy holiday period.” “For people travelling this holiday period, we suggest allowing plenty of time to get to the airport and to their flight.

We also recommend that people check the Australian Government’s security regulations for international and domestic travel.” “Melbourne Airport will have additional staff on hand as well as our volunteer Customer Care team to assist people getting around the airport. We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season,” said Mr Woodruff. The new Ring & Ride wait zone is now located in a dedicated area on the corner of Mercer Drive and Melrose Drive and provides a safe and accessible area for private vehicles to wait until their passenger is ready for collection. Public pick-up areas are located at Terminal 4 and the main terminal forecourt area which services terminals 1, 2 and 3. The Ring & Ride wait zone is free for the first 20 minutes while people can wait for up to 40 minutes for $2 and up to 60 minutes for $4. –
