Dom Pedro chain launches holiday MICE programme

Book a meeting and win holiday room nights with Dom Pedro. The chain of hotels, based in Portugal and Brazil, has launched a new incentive allowing meeting planners to save points for every event they book to be used on free nights, meals and treatments at Dom Pedro hotels.

Meetings with movie-star glamour

Hotel Le Plaza in Brussels was built in the 1920s, with a movie theatre as its pièce de résistance. This grand column-free space can be used for award ceremonies, gala dinners, car launches and more. Fully soundproofed, it was designed to offer excellent visibility from all the seats, including the balcony, and can accommodate 1300 attendees. Recently renovated, the theatre at Hotel Le Plaza is a star in its own right.

Brunelleschi gets a revamp

Florence’s stunning Hotel Brunelleschi – blessed with views of the city’s famous cupola, its own museum and medieval tower – has announced the renovation of its Santa Elisabetta restaurant. The new head chef, Simone Bertaccini, has revamped the menu too, with more glorious seasonal dishes made with the finest local produce and coupled with distinguished wines.

And the prize for the biggest event goes to…

Salgados Resort recently hosted the Algarve’s largest event this year. The Mercedes Globaltraining Experience brought 15,000 people from 54 countries over 10 weeks to the region. There were 80 specially chartered flights landing at Faro Airport, and 300 cars for test drives. The whole resort was dressed in Mercedes colours for almost four months. The Salgados Resort is home to Great Hotels of the World member Vidamar Algarve Hotel.
